  1. Understand the historical development of the behavioral studies fields and its importance to the helping professions.
  2. Learn the various theories regarding influences on personality and behavior, and evaluate according to a biblical understanding of humankind.
  3. Identify characteristics of normal and abnormal human behavior, including etiology, assessment, and treatment.
  4. Explore the relationship of behavioral studies to other disciplines, especially that of Christian theology and ministry.
  5. Utilize skills of listening and guidance in an ethical manner to assist others in making effective changes in their attitudes and behaviors.
