- Understand the historical development of the behavioral studies fields and its importance to the helping professions.
- Learn the various theories regarding influences on personality and behavior, and evaluate according to a biblical understanding of humankind.
- Identify characteristics of normal and abnormal human behavior, including etiology, assessment, and treatment.
- Explore the relationship of behavioral studies to other disciplines, especially that of Christian theology and ministry.
- Utilize skills of listening and guidance in an ethical manner to assist others in making effective changes in their attitudes and behaviors.
