What can I do with a degree in Christian Ministries?

As a Christian Ministries major, you are trained in every dimension of life -- academically, socially, and doctrinally. But the overriding influence of a Southwestern College education is the person of Christ and your service to Him. Our Christian Ministries graduates currently serve in virtually every facet of ministry as youth pastors, associate pastors, musicians, and missionaries. Others serve in the secular world as business professionals, counselors, and music/worship leaders.

Objectives:
The Christian Ministries major is designed for those who desire to minister in the church or in other related ministries. The core of the Christian Ministries major includes:

  1. Emphasis on being a passionate sold-out follower of Christ
  2. Understanding the history, philosophy, and theology of ministry
  3. Experiencing the practical aspects of ministry

In addition to the core courses, students in the Christian Ministries major may choose an eighteen to twenty-one credit hour minor in business, counseling, youth ministry, or music. A Christian Ministries major without a minor may take a variety of professional courses to fulfill their required program of study.
